The Hacker Factor. One idea from the city, turned into one working app in a day, live on a room full of screens. DJs from the first hour building toward a headliner at night, painters around the perimeter all day, the room running the app on their phones and telling the teams what they think while it is still being built, money moving in public. Community solutions through technology and art.

Money is one of them, and for most people the least likely

Distribution is the real bottleneck in impact technology, so the list leads with what matters most.

  1. 01

    Help us reach the users

The app is for somebody. If you know them, work with them or are them, you are the most valuable person on this page. Introduce us, test it, bring it to the people it is for.

  2. 02

    Put your organization forward

The city chooses who runs what it built. The chosen organization sits beside the teams for the day and takes the app home on Monday. Before the night we ask one question: what number should move, and who already measures it. We publish what you report, attributed to you.

  3. 03

    Give in kind

AV, screens, uplink, power, food, print, transport, the things a night is made of. In kind sits on its own line of the ledger, named, never summed with cash.

  4. 04

Put an idea on the board

One sentence. If the city votes it to the top, four teams build it, and whoever raised it holds a slice of what it becomes, papered by counsel if it is ever commercialized.

  5. 05

    Be in the second room

A digital ticket carries every camera including 360 inside each team, a line into the teams' feeds, and a vote that counts the same as one in the room. A free tier never closes.

  6. 06

    Work the night

Registration, floor, the wall, the count, the load in. Everyone who works is paid a share from the base pool, in a letter, on the ledger. Whoever works this one is the crew for whatever comes after.

Who we are looking for

People who want a tool to reach the people it was built for. One form, and some of the boxes already have names on our side of the table.

  • The build floor

Limitless Lights and Sound · Underdog Audio Visual · TSV Sound & Vision · Meeting Tomorrow

A room full of screens, sound, light, stage and power, in kind. Named partner credit, and development credit dollar for dollar on fair value. The floor and the eight o'clock show are one booking.

  • Partner organizations

Austin AI Hub · Open Austin · Notley · whoever the city chooses

The organization that takes the product home on Monday and puts it in front of the people who asked for it. The city chooses; we put forward the ones with real reach.

  • Reach Partners

    Named on the board

You know where the users are: a congregation, a clinic, a school district, a neighborhood group. Carry the night to them and you are on the board.

  • Connectors

    Named on the board

Bring a sponsor, a partner organization, a venue or a headliner, and you are named as a Connector on the first night.

  • Suppliers

    Food · uplink · furniture · security · insurance

Waive the invoice and take it back dollar for dollar as development work, on a named delivery quarter. Or invoice us and be on the record either way.

  • Hands

    Friday to Sunday

The stewards who count tokens, the door, the load in and the strike. Everyone who works is paid a share, in a letter, on the ledger.

Pick the yes that is yours. One form.

What it gives back

Every yes here ends the same way: a product in the hands of this city, the one it asked for and voted to the top. The organization takes it home on Monday. The record shows what it did. Austin is better than it was on Friday. This is the page for giving back directly.
